What is Historic Erotica?

If there was a museum with a curated archive of adult films from the last century, Historic Erotica would be it. Here you'll find a collection of vintage porn dating back to the '50s. The library includes vignettes (clips), 8MM stag films and videos from old studios like Grindhouse Gold. You'll also have access to more classic films among the bonus content. 

Check out black and white pictures and rare magazine covers with the likes of Betty Page and pre-Hollywood Marilyn Monroe. Expect everything you love about retro porn from the cheesy music to the big hairstyles and clothing from the different eras. One thing is for sure  - porn never changes no matter what decade you're in!

HistoricErotica has 173 streaming-only videos in 480p and lower. Some of the scenes were reformatted from analog and look okay, but since this is pretty old stuff, you'll come across plenty of cigarette burns, and static and grainy footage, which is to be expected of course. The 75 galleries are not high-res obviously but have been remastered and look pretty good.

Unfortunately, the site stopped updating in 2014. Even the news section and the coming soon haven't been touched since then. The homepage still says that they're "updating constantly," but this isn't true. The only place that's actively "updating" is the bonus section. 

Limited Browsing Tools

There's not much when it comes to usability and the interface isn't mobile -responsive. There's a basic search, but you can't save your favorites, leave comments or ratings, some of the tags don't work and there are no sorting options. The collection also isn't well organized because of mislabeled sections. The Vignettes has the same content you'll find under Videos, and when you click the Historic Erotica Movies link, it brings you to the bonus section. It's a messy setup and it can get confusing. 

Oddly, you get better usability in the bonus section than you do on the actual site! These extra movies are a mix of older scenes from sites like Party Hardcore and Mr. Skin as well as DVDs from the early 2000s. Look for the Classics category under the Niches tab to bring up 2,000+ DVDs and over 10,000 scenes with some retro elements like hairy muffs, mustaches and big hair with all that hardcore sex!

How to Cancel Historic Erotica

Unfortunately, you won't find much help from Historic Erotica if you run into any issues. The site's two support links are broken, and there isn't a phone number, email or live chat option. To cancel your membership, you'll have to go through CentroBill. Simply log in using your credentials and they'll take care of the rest. Expires on or Expired on next to your account means your subscription has been canceled successfully. Take a Trip Back in Porn Time

This collection of rare porn classics is worth a look. The quality is low, but it's to be expected when it comes to vintage porn and I find it adds authenticity to your trip down memory lane. The bonus videos also add value to your membership with some more modern-day classics to enjoy. Despite not having updated in a few years and the poor organization, Historic Erotica still has a lot to offer retro porn fans and comes at a great price.
