XXX-Vintage: So You Can Blast to the Past

For some, the past is a beacon of a simpler time without so many complications. For others, it's a reminder of many an unpleasant historical context. But for XXX-Vintage, it's a portal into how adult content used to be. On this retro porn site, you'll see the women of yesterday showing off their talents for today's audience.

What Are You Getting?

The content on XXX-Vintage is mostly hardcore porn. The collection gives off a bit of a "found footage" vibe, as the selection seems cobbled together. Some scenes have a plot and clearly transition from tease or setup into sex, while others start right in the middle of the action. Threesome porn and blowjob porn are well-represented. If nothing else, it's refreshing to see porn plots that don't revolve around stepfamily taboos .

Some scenes are clearly from the late seventies or eighties. The girls' looks and the sets give it away. But other scenes are in a more gray area, where they might be from the nineties or early '00s. All this is to say that you shouldn't bank on recognizing the performers. That's not to say you won't see any familiar names, as there's a scene with Gina Gerson and a few featuring Rocco Siffredi .

If you add them all up, you'll see that members get 203 videos. You can stream and download most in 540p standard definition, but 52 are available in Full HD. Lower resolutions are available for the 1080p content, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the 540p videos also have some options. Still, modern streaming and storage standards mean you won't have any issues streaming or downloading them, especially as downloads are unlimited.

This retro porn collection is part of the Dorcel Network. Marc Dorcel is a famous French director, so this is the home of his filmography in some ways. Other sites on the network include Africa XXX, Luxure, and Girls at Work. Much of the network's content is the same as what you'll find here but with a modern flair.

What Works?

Generally, XXX-Vintage performs well. Members can use the advanced search to find girls, scenes, and categories. The common sorting options are available for the videos. And categories are available and seem to map well to their results. Plus, the whole site is mobile -friendly. Filters and favorites are also available.

The video player works well. One of its best features is the timeline markings that tell you when the blowjob, reverse cowgirl, or other sex act begins. You can also scrub the timeline to get frame previews. I don't love that the videos autoplay, but at least keyboard shortcuts work.

The rewards program is one of the more intriguing parts of becoming a member. Every day you remain a member, you get three XP. On the rewards page, you'll see locked video packs from participating sites, like BAEB and 21 Naturals. The XP costs vary, from 20 XP up to 2,070. Spending just under two years to unlock all the content isn't that unachievable.

Use the model index to find the girl that catches your eye. It has much of the same functionality as the video results, so you can filter, sort, and search it. Or add models to your favorites. What Doesn't Work?

It's difficult to determine how often XXX-Vintage updates. Most of the scenes have what I assume is their original upload date, which is around 2010-2012. But other scenes have dates from this year and recently too. My best guess is that they're adding or cycling content multiple times a month, but how quickly it grows is anyone's guess. And it's not a huge deal, but I did notice four videos from one of the network's other sites, Luxure.

The site's video quality bears further discussion. First, let's be clear that most scenes are in 540p. But around 50 or so are only available in 240p. And while some 1080p content fits the bill, other scenes are obviously reformatted and look about the same as their original resolution. Of course, we're talking about a retro porn site, so none of this should be too surprising, but it's worth knowing upfront.

Photos, tags, comments, and ratings are unavailable. Most of these goodies are standard practice, but they're not necessarily a value-add other than the photos. Still, without photos, you also don't get Zips, in case that wasn't apparent. And the final omission is English dialogue, which you'll hardly ever, if ever, find in the videos. French is The most spoken language, which applies to the whole network.

Do I Recommend It?

Vintage porn can feel more erotic , sensual, and realistic than modern scenes. For some, that's very appealing, as is seeing pornstars when they were young. As for this specific collection, it's a good mix of quantity, value, and user experience. More HD content would be better, but it's retro, so they get more of a pass. This collection will be a welcome addition if you like Marc Dorcel's other work.
