Roleplaying with Moltfans AI's Characters

The interface is mobile-responsive, and there's an app, too. You'll occasionally see pop-ups reminding you of this. You can follow characters to keep track of them, much like a favorites feature. There are sorting options and a small selection of generic tags, like "flirty" and "adventurous." You'll also see a "share" button on characters and images, which lets you crosspost to other social platforms.

If you've ever tried your hand at YouTube or Google Ads, the creator tools section might feel familiar. It's packed with data of all kinds, ensuring you can get as granular as you want, with tools to manage affiliates, subscribers, bots, and more.

Challenges and achievements gamify the site, letting you perform various tasks to earn accolades and small token rewards. The tasks range from posting about the site on social media to sending messages to your favorite characters. Speaking of sending messages, you can also do that with your subscribed characters. They'll reply with one to four sentences, depending on the creator's settings.

Support is limited on Moltfans AI. It was difficult to find the support page, which only offers a contact form. There's a button to report any posts you find objectionable, too. Given how many of the site's services rely on recurring subscriptions, the dedicated section for them is probably all you need if you decide to cancel or change your plan.

Moltfans AI's Main Drawbacks

There's too much monetization on Moltfans AI. For starters, tokens can only be used to send tips and unlock images. For everything else, it's either a separate charge or a separate subscription. You can't send messages without subscribing to a character first, with the lowest price being $5/month, even if you created them. Creators have the option to upsell you during a chat, making their already limited reply lengths even shorter to serve you an ad. It's all a bit much.

Most of these AI characters are bland. Browsing the Discover feed feels a bit like looking at a single influencer's profile, only she's really good at using makeup, clothing, and poses to assume different ethnicities and body types. The text chat isn't much better, and the replies are too short. Despite this, the site has a marketplace for creators to bid on other users' bots, claiming full ownership for $19-$412 per character, with the option to spend even more to see a bot's engagement metrics.

It's also worth noting that several features are unavailable. You can't leave comments or ratings for the characters. There's only a plaintext search, too. You won't find any AI video generation or AI voice messaging, either. It's not even clear if multiple models are used, as they're called "image styles" in the character creator and are plaintext, meaning you can write whatever you want. Also, it feels disingenuous to say on the tour that you get unlimited free chat, considering you can't even chat with your own characters for free.

Is Moltfans AI's Adult Chat Right for You?

Moltfans AI begs questions like, "Who is all this for?", "Why would someone want to spend money interacting with uninspired AI characters?", and "What creator would want to invest their time, energy, and effort into this platform?" Maybe this is a narrow-minded take, but it's clear that a lot of effort has gone into creating this platform, from the novel monetization model to the sleek, in-depth interface. However, it all feels like a cart racing down a hill, while the horse is yet to reach the starting line.
