Discover the World of Porn NFTs

NFTs are everywhere these days and with the onset of Bitcoin porn sites, the adult industry knew that porn NFTs were the next logical step. You’ve probably noticed a flood of posts on social media about them, prompting you to think “What the hell is an NFT? What are all these cartoon monkey faces? Wait – these are worth how much?!”

Porn has always been at the cutting edge of technology and has consistently evolved with the times. Whether it was the move from VHS to DVD to online, or the amazing advances in VR porn and teledildonics, whenever there’s a new tech, people will find a way to use it for sex and pleasure.

Porn NFTs Aside, What Is an NFT?

Before getting into all of the excitement surrounding adult NFTs, I should probably explain exactly what an NFT is. In case you’re confused, NFT stands for non-fungible token. That probably doesn’t make things any clearer, does it? Non-fungible means something unique and that can’t be replaced by something else.

It’s like a one-of-a-kind trading card, something only you have. You can trade it for something else completely different, whereas something fungible, like a Bitcoin, for example, would be traded for another Bitcoin (two things that are exactly the same). Does that make more sense now?

An NFT is basically a digital receipt for a specific item that proves it is 100% unique and that you are the owner. Pretty much anything can be considered a non-fungible token, from songs to an individual tweet on Twitter, but there has been a particular interest in art-based NFTs.

Cryptocurrency & NFTs Go Hand in Hand

If you’ve heard people talking about NFTs a lot, you probably heard them mention cryptocurrency in the same conversation. That’s because NFTs are most commonly purchased with crypto, and they are also stored and encrypted using the same technology.

Forbes explained it perfectly: “An NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency, and they are generally encoded with the same underlying software as many cryptos.”

Pornstars Leading the NFT Trend

With so many Bitcoin porn sites nowadays, it was only a matter of time before porn NFTs started popping up, too. Adult performers are already busy creating custom content for their fans. But instead of providing them through platforms like OnlyFans, they can make them unique by minting them as NFTs.

“Minting” an NFT basically means the process of turning a digital file into a crypto collectible. And one of the first notable stars to do so was Sophie Dee. This Brit jumped on the new technology and partnered with the Polygon-based blockchain company BaeBay. She auctioned off unique adult videos to fans that were 100% exclusive and made for their eyes only.

BaeBay also created a unique cryptocurrency for Sophie, the $SOPHIE token. This allowed fans to invest in Sophie, trade and sell the token with other members in the community, and get access to exclusive content. You can learn more about BaeBay and Sophie’s collab on XBIZ.

Joanna Angel has also dabbled in the world of NFTs. Specifically, NFTxCards made a digital card out of Joanna’s likeness. She also auctioned off NFTs through BaeBay.

Sophie and Joanna aren’t the only big names dabbling in NFTs and crypto – plenty of other performers are killing it when it comes to this new electronic era. They are adapting to the changing times and using it to their advantage.

Some might even say that Allie Eve Knox is a pioneer when it comes to adult NFTs. Known as the Crypto Cutie, she has been involved with crypto ever since her PayPal account got shut down in 2014. Because crypto has been so open and accepting of sex workers, it was a natural progression.

Allie mints her own NFTs on the platform Rarible and they are usually (as you might expect) sexually explicit. She also works with Spankchain, a site where sex workers can accept payments in crypto without worrying about being shut down by puritanical forces like credit card companies – or PayPal, for that matter.

Brenna Sparks is another performer who has partnered with Spankchain to create her own 18+ NFTs. She first tweeted about working with the company back in April 2021. One of the NFTs she created was the Daddy Pass, available through Rarible. Obtaining this pass gives the owner, or Official Daddy, instant access to her exclusive tweets and other content.

Some sex workers have not only embraced this new technology but also revolved their whole persona around it. Cryptonatrix, for example, is an artist and sex worker who specializes in 18+ NFTs. As her name suggests, she’s also a Dominatrix and refers to herself as “the Crypto Femdom Artist.”

Even though a lot of her work focuses on political and social commentary, often while incorporating Femdom elements, not all of her NFTs are purely sexual. In fact, she offers digital art on her OpenSea marketplace. But don’t worry, she also creates animations where she’s squeezing her boobs.

Don’t let the sex distract you, though. She is a smart businesswoman and an impressive artist. After spending some time on Cryptonatrix’s Twitter, you’ll quickly realize that she knows her stuff! And, yes, she also posts some NSFW selfies.

The Future of the Adult Industry

This is only the beginning of what NFTs have to offer. As technology continues to change and the Metaverse gets bigger and better, we never know what tomorrow will hold – but the adult industry will be right there growing, too.

Plenty of creators and major brands continue to infiltrate the market. The crypto platform CumRocket, for example, launched their own OnlyFans alternative on the blockchain as a way of “disrupting the adult industry.” They will offer their own tokens ($Cummies) that can be used for sexting, tipping, premium adult subscriptions, and to purchase and trade adult NFTs.

More and more porn sites will definitely get into the game, too. In August 2021, VR Cosplay X released their own set of limited edition artworks based on their porn scenes to Rarible. The artworks were based off of the cover art from their most popular films, which featured stars like Jessa Rhodes, Anna Bell Peaks, Zoe Doll, and others.

Keep an Eye Out For Adult NFTs

This is just the beginning for adult-themed NFTs. The industry already reveres cryptocurrency thanks to it being an alternative payment method when it comes to anonymous porn memberships.

Crypto, being a decentralized finance technology, is censorship-resistant, too, so sex workers feel safe using it for their work – unlike payment providers like Visa or Mastercard that can sometimes pull their services from adult-themed sites. Cryptocurrency allows safe porn sites to continue to operate in a legitimate way.

And when it comes to porn NFTs, it gives performers all the power. They can create and mint their own non-fungible tokens and do it all themselves, furthering their own business ventures without needing a middleman. Or a man at all.

At the end of the day, you should do your own research. I’m hardly an expert, after all. Once you’re all set, why not check out some of the top Bitcoin porn sites and take it from there?
