Pros and Cons
- works on iPhones and Androids
- lots of performers
- many reasonably priced cams
- some navigation issues
- variable cam quality
- no chat timer
If you were online looking for a good live cam site, then one called Cams would seem like a good place to start, right? Well, I am here to tell you if that is the case or not. The first thing I check when I sign in to a live cam site is how many models are currently online.
Checking in at different hours, I found Cams to have between 400 and 650 women online, so everything is good on that front. The next step is to actually check out some of these babes and see what they have in store for me. Unfortunately, the navigation is a bit annoying. If on the main page and you click on any of the categories or page numbers and then enter a chat room, when you click back, you're redirected to the main page and have lost your page/category selection.
The design has a basic template that shows the complete lineup of available performers, who each have a small preview pic, along with icons telling you their age and location. There's a search field that allows you to search by race, eyes, hair, age and language. You can even search by astrological sign and favorite sexual position, two options I can assure you most cam sites don't have.
The chicks are a mix of in-studio and work-from-home, but I was happy to find that most appeared to be typing by themselves instead of having someone else do it. I picked one who had a hot thumbnail and headed on in. After checking her out in the free chat and making sure she was willing to do what I wanted I clicked to take her private. This is always a good thing to do to make sure she speaks enough English (assuming that is your first language) to understand what you will be typing to her in private.
A little warning came up telling me how much it was going to cost per minute (the price varies from model to model) and when I accepted, it was time for me and her to have some fun. There is no countdown timer, but the moment I ended the chat and went back to the main page I saw my account adjusted to show me how much money I had left.
You now have the option of tipping the performer, but I get the feeling that most are not used to tips on this site. I tipped one in free chat and she didnt do anything other than ask me if I wanted to go private. Then I got kicked out of the chat, 'cause someone else took her private.
There are some excellent-looking cams out there (marked HD), but most range from mediocre to great. There is sound for most, so you can listen to the babe rather than just have her type. They also offer a cam2cam option if you want the model to be able to see you as well. They all have bios, some vid caps and a link to any of their recorded shows.
The next important thing to consider is price, which ranged from as little as $1.49 to as much as $4.99 per minute, with lots of chicks coming in at an average of $2.99/minute. Because the site has a good selection most of the day, a little browsing should find you a performer who meets your needs and budget. At $0.99/minute, you can even check out the recorded shows of which there are over 45,000. A lot of the thumbs lead you to group shows, which is annoying if you want a 1 on 1 chat, but great if you want to save some money. However, they should at least let us filter out the group shows.
I checked the site on my iPhone and I must say that the stream was quite choppy. They do encourage you to install a Siwa app they probably developped like Streamate, to support HD streams.
For a monthly fee to Cams.com you can become a premium member or join a model's fan club. This will get you a few extra features as well as a percentage off the cam prices, but I would suggest waiting to see how it goes with the pay-per-minute membership before dropping a monthly fee.
