Hot on the heels of a recent study investigating the popularity of sexual fantasies, we have another piece of news looking into what types of porn people enjoy. The site Data Looks Dope released a sweet looking chart of the 500 most popular porn tags from the tube site XVideos. Since they’re user-generated tags, it provides a unique look into how we categorize our porn. Because it’s one thing to tell a bunch of medical students what you’re into and it’s another when you’re actually alone in a comfortable space and browsing with just one hand.
The takeaway? As the chart shows, “hardcore” is far and away the number one tag, dwarfing all but the top 20 results among the 500 listed. This isn’t too surprising, as “hardcore” is pretty much like saying “mainstream” in porn; it can be applied to any scene where penetration (vaginal, anal and oral) takes place. Close behind is “blowjob,” followed by “teen” and “amateur,” which are also rather broad terms in pornography. One of the interesting results is it appears people have more fun watching “brunettes” (#5) getting fucked than “blondes” (#6). And it appears we love anal (#7) just a bit more than we love pussy (#8). And there are people who aren’t sure what the purpose of a site like XVideos is based on the number of people who tag scenes as “Porn” (#66).
