Pros and Cons
- high-res images
- exclusive content
- bonus material
- no zipped photo sets
- no videos
- lackluster design
What do Sarah Palin, "Taylor, the pop star sensation" (who is the spitting image of Taylor Swift) and a fast-food restaurant cashier doing porn for the first time have in common? They're all characters in Moneymaker, which is one of the X-rated series of comics found on JKR Comix.
The entire website is devoted to sequential art and illustrations, so it shouldn't surprise you to learn that there are no movies to be found. Instead, you will find the images split up into "galleries" and "comics" and in total you're looking about 63 galleries. There are original comics, parodies of well-known books like Joe Madureira's "Battle Chasers," and Archie comics, sketches, dirty drawings of popular characters, comic strips, standalone pictures and more.
While there isn't a ton of content, updates do come frequently enough. In fact, you might get three or more updates each week. That's great, but the thing is, the updates consist of one image or one page of a comic. With updates like that, it'll take some time for the website to truly build up its offerings.
The content is actually quite impressive. JKR is the guy responsible for most of the art and he's really skilled with a pencil. He could probably find work with a mainstream comic publisher if he wanted to. His style is crisp and clear and it reminds me a bit of J. Scott Campbell's work. If you read comics you definitely know who I'm talking about and also know that that's quite a compliment. If you take a good look at JKR's high-res offerings, you'll be able to see that for yourself.
Much like the art, the site itself looks really good. It is well organized and quite functional, despite not offering any Zip downloads. Speaking of which, while it would be nice to be able to save all the pages in one fell swoop, opening them up on your computer might detract from the experience you get reading the comics online.
In addition to the comics and art, the site also gives you access to video feeds, erotic stories, games, Flash cartoons, photos and live cams. These extras will keep you busy while you wait for more updates.
JKR Comix has some problems, but the price is reasonable. On top of that, the quality is great and the material is exclusive, which isn't that common among illustrated porn sites. If you take all these factors into consideration, the site is worth a look.
