Cam Contacts is a combination of a sex and community type site. At first, because there isn't a typical homepage filled with little live cam boxes, I wasn't quite sure what this site was all about until I saw the "who's online now" button. I clicked it and everything started to make sense.

What appeared was a page filled with categories and little thumbnail pics. The two main categories are adult and non-adult on CamContacts, although within those two there are many sub-categories as well. For example, in the non-adult section, you have categories like friends and long-term or marriage, whereas in the adult section, you can see chicks home alone, lesbians, couples, dudes home alone and gender benders, to name a few.

You can be having a dirty nude chat one minute and then chatting with a possible wife the next. Pay attention to the categories because in the non-adult section, there is no nudity at all. Not to worry though because if you want nudity there is plenty of it in the adult one.

In total there are over 40,000 different chat hosts registered with the site, but they are obviously not all online at the same time. These are real people, mostly amateurs, who do this from their home and also make their own schedule. When I was online, there were about 80 people in the non-adult sections and about 500 in the adult ones.

Although you do have to register and have a credit card (to confirm you're over 18), it is free to browse, check out who's online, read their profiles and see photos they have taken during their cam shows. There is free text chat, but no free video chat, which has become standard in the field. If you want a video chat, you have to pay, even for the models who don't get naked and are just looking for friends or a relationship. This is kind of annoying since that means you won't be able to see the quality of a chick's cam or see how she looks live without paying something.

Speaking of paying, the women actually determine their own price. For example, one was charging $4.50 per minute for a private one-on-one chat, which is on the very expensive end of things. In general, every one I saw ranged from about 50 cents a minute to 2.99 per minute, with most hanging out in the $1 to $2 range. The prices were a little higher for the private one-to-one chats, but even then, $1 to $3 is what you can expect.

The cam quality varied, but most were average to poor. If you have a cam, you can do cam2cam chat with the host, so she or he can see you. If you decide you want to be a host, all it takes is a camera, a filled-out form and some software and you are good to go. With the great variety, the sexy amateurs and the generally low prices, Cam Contacts is appealing. On the negative side is the overall cam quality (although, it does vary) and the inability to do free video chat before deciding to spend money.
