Tgirl Gold: Vintage Trans Porn

Tgirl Gold harkens back to when trans porn was considered niche. The scenes come from DVDs and some of the titles would make most respectable people shudder. But despite some of the derogatory names, this groundbreaking content was ahead of its time. It helped pave the way for today's more open society by showing people that transwomen are beautiful and desirable.

The man behind the collection is Steve Grooby, a pioneer in trans porn. He recognized early on that this tiny niche would grow to be one of adult's most popular categories. He's always worked at being respectful toward the models and a helpful ally to the community. He actually rebranded several of his sites in recent years to reflect this. This vintage collection celebrates the trans performers who struggled to be embraced and were pushed to the fringe.

What Are You Getting?

You can stream and download 263 remastered scenes in 720p. HD streams and downloads of the 60+ DVDs and VHS tapes are also available. They add a bunch of new videos about once or twice a week, so the library is rapidly expanding.

There's a blog with details about all the updates. Tgirl Gold is a Grooby site, so you can also access the Grooby Hub with bonus content from across the studio's many sites. You can also watch streams on Grooby TV 24/7. There's an active forum where you can even interact with Steve and participate in AMA sessions with TS pornstars.

What Works?

Expect a solid user experience, even if the site has a slightly retro feel to go along with its classic porn. Count on sorting options, rating, and a favorites section. You can leave comments or hide them entirely if you're not inclined to read other people's feedback.

Each scene links to its source DVD and the studio that produced it. You can also browse the DVDs and check out the front and back cover. They include the original release date, studio name, thumbs for all the related scenes, and the full-length version.

The model index has sorting options and an alphabetical index. You'll see her birthday (minus the year), her location, and a bio. Sometimes the write-ups are several paragraphs long and include interesting tidbits about their careers.

You've got lots of payment options when subscribing, including Bitcoin , PayPal , credit card , and snail-mail. They list Interac (specifically for Canadian customers), but I don't actually see it as a signup option. It could be a glitch and you could always submit a ticket to their support team. 

They make canceling super easy with a Cancel Your Account option. Click it to access their self-service form for their primary in-house biller, which will apply to most subscribers. Links to the various backup billers are also available. You can always hit our team up if you run into any problems.

What Doesn't Work?

Monthly subscribers can download a max of 20 videos/day. The files hover around a gig each and 20GB is a decent allowance but not particularly large. At any rate, if you want unlimited access (no download managers, though), you can sign up for a multimonth or annual subscription. They also have a VIP option that exempts you from the limit. VIP members  get full access to all Gooby sites for $1,500/year, as well as a ticket to the Trans Erotica Awards.

While the site has an advanced search, I have to say that it's a dud compared to other Grooby sites. Usually, you get a full page of options to select from, but on Tgirl Gold, you have to guess. For example, I started typing "hardcore " and options like "TS fucking girl" and "TS fucking guy" popped up. The problem is that neither one returned any results, even though they'd apply to plenty of scenes.

There aren't any tags, which may explain why the advanced search doesn't work well. It seems like no one has taken the time to categorize the content correctly. Often the performers also aren't tagged. Generally, only those who've worked at some point for Grooby are listed.

I hesitate to be too critical of the video quality because remastering classic porn has its limitations. So all I will say is they've done their best in that respect, but sometimes the results are blurry. In some cases, they're remastering a DVD, which is already a remastered version of a VHS tape. Rather than seeing it as a big negative, just keep it in mind.

Do I Recommend It?

The main selling point on the tour page isn't that you won't find these scenes elsewhere. They take pride that their remastered versions are often better than what you'd see on other DVD sites. And I think they're probably right about that. If you're craving vintage trans porn, Tgirl Gold is arguably the gold standard.
