Cam Contacts Review

Cam Contacts is a combination of a live sex and community site. At first, because there isn't your typical homepage filled with little live cam boxes, I wasn't quite sure what this site was all about until I saw the "who's online now" button. Once I clicked it everything started to make sense.

What appeared was a page filled with categories and little thumbnails. On CamContacts the two main cats are adult and non-adult, although within those two there are many sub-categories. For example, in the non-adult section, you have "friends," "long-term" and "marriage," whereas in the adult section you can see "chicks home alone," "lesbians ," "couples," "dudes home alone" and "gender benders," to name a few.

You can be having a dirty nude chat one minute and then chatting with a possible wife the next. Pay attention to the categories because in the non-adult section, there is no nudity at all. Not to worry, though, because if you want nudity there is plenty of it in the adult one.

I haven't visited this site in over three years and today nothing much has changed. The navigation seems to be getting more outdated with each visit, given how far along other cam sites are. There are still many annoying issues, like not being able to sort the performers and no filters for the performers in private one-on-one chat. They haven't worked on their cam quality either.

There are notifications, favorites and an advanced search, which is cool 'cause it's the only one I've see so far that allows you to break down the performers by country and I found seven from Christmas Island (didn't know this country even existed!). They also seem to have invested some time and development to their mobile site . It's clean, easy to browse and the cam quality is better than average (for mobiles).

In total there are over 40,000 chat hosts registered with the site, but they're obviously not all online at the same time. These are real people, mostly amateurs , who do this from their homes and make their own schedule. When I was online, there were about 80 performers in the non-adult sections and about 200 in the adult ones.

Although you do have to register and have a credit card (to confirm you're over 18), it's free to browse, check out who's online, read the profiles and see any photos they've taken during their cam shows. There's free text chat, but no free video chat, which has become standard in the field. If you want a video chat, you have to pay, even for the performers who don't get naked and are just looking for friends or a relationship. This is kind of annoying since it means you won't be able to see the quality of a chick's cam or see how she looks live without paying something.

Speaking of paying, the women actually determine their own prices. For example, one was charging $4.50 per minute for a private one-on-one chat, which is on the very expensive end. In general, the cam prices ranged from about $0.50 cents a minute to $2.99 per minute, with most hanging out in the $1 to $2 range. The prices were a little higher for the private one-on-one chats, but even then, $1 to $3 is what you can expect.

The cam quality varied, but most were poor to average. If you have a cam, you can do cam2cam chat with the host, so she or he can see you. If you decide you want to be a host, all it takes is a camera, a filled-out form and some software and you're good to go. With a good variety of sexy amateurs and generally low prices, Cam Contacts is appealing. On the negative side is the overall cam quality (although it does vary) and the inability to have a free video chat before deciding to spend any money.
