A Brief History of Interracial Porn
American and global culture up to the 1940s was pretty dark, especially for Black people. As a porn reviewer, I don’t think it’s right for me to discuss this delicate subject. But I’m sure you’re aware of what sentiments were like then. So I’ll start my history after that period when movies were still in their infancy.
For a long time, there was only one kind of mainstream porn. A particular type of attractive blonde girl with natural or artificial endowments has sex with a less-than-ideal white guy with a big dick. The only real change in these films, from the 50s through the 80s, were hairstyles, both above and below the belt.
But along with the Blacksploitation trend of the 80s came Black performers in the porn industry. So the emergence of these films led to an industry myth. In essence, it said that white women who had sex with Black men were ostracized and paid less than those performers who abstained.
For the record, the claim interracial performers get blacklisted (so to speak) doesn’t withstand scrutiny. Rather the opposite is probably closer to the truth. It tracks that pornstars willing to work with more performers get more work. And that more popular niches make more money. Interracial and BBC porn both fit that bill nicely.
As with all media, the internet shook things up. So the late 90s brought message boards where people could share porn, including interracial scenes. This moment in time was also when a small studio would purchase a mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean and begin producing its content.

The easiest way to describe the first category is by pointing to any of the content on Blacked.com. Here, the male performers are portrayed as contemporary Adonis’. They wear lots of jewelry, are physically fit, play successful characters, and are often confident to the point of being cocksure. Producers usually lather them in oil to make their skin glisten and pop.
This male grooming is all in stark contrast to the women and sets. Generally, the women are pale, wear light colors, and can’t help but submissively crawl into bed with these men. The sets are often white and sunlit, further contrasting the two performers. In short, these scenes border on a form of worship for the Black male.
The second category deals with the domination of white men through their women. This approach is most evident in the cuckold porn niche. Effeminate and passive guys sit by as their wives and stepdaughters have sex with Black men. Spite, subjugation, humility, and revenge are all possible themes for this second type of interracial porn.
Aside from these two categories, I think it’s worth mentioning a recent trend. “Feminization” or “Sissification” is a type of trans porn that allows white, heterosexual men to fantasize about becoming Black men’s sexual objects.
It encourages them to crossdress and submit to BBC. Again, it’s a twist on the “Black men as power objects” idea but shifting the sexual desire from the woman to the cuckolded man.
It seems that every step we take away from fetishizing Black men as taboo objects lead toward their fetishization as sexual deities. Some may point to this as the natural result of Black men’s perceived genital size, but guess what?
The Myth of Big Black Cock
“Is it true what they say? That all Black guys have huge… You know?”
This sentiment, or one very similar to it, is a trope in North American society. Usually, the person asking is a white woman. Sometimes it’s played up for laughs or sexual tension in the media, and other times it occurs in anecdotes from Black men sharing their lived experiences.
If you believe in the BBC myth, I’m sorry to burst your bubble. All the relevant research points to the same conclusion. Black men regress to the mean in penis length and girth as much as any other ethnic group. Like all the BWC in porn, casting agents choose male performers specifically for their extraordinary proportions.
While we’re on the subject, it’s worth noting that many individuals, and Black men, in particular, find this stereotype harmful. It creates unrealistic expectations of their sexual partners. And it can pretty clearly lead to some of the objectification we were just talking about. Still, there’s one more part to the story: the power of fantasy.
Are Racial Differences Sexy?
Let’s get this out of the way: I don’t believe objectifying any group or individual is acceptable. However, it’s not that uncommon. Chinese men objectify white women. North Americans, Australians, and Scandinavians objectify Asian and Arab women. The existence of interracial porn is clear evidence that North Americans objectify Black men.
Like everything to do with porn, the important thing is to firmly separate fantasy from reality. Sexual desires, fetishes, and fantasies are healthy and normal. Acting them out in safe ways with consenting partners is ace. The only time there is a problem is when you treat someone differently because of untrue beliefs or false perceptions.
