1 Pondo Review

The Japanese word for pound is "pondo." With that in mind, I couldn't help but wonder what the reasoning was behind naming this site 1 Pondo. Is this some Shakespearean analogy? Will an Asian porn parody of Shylock demand his pound of flesh in the form of boob worship instead of wrathful vengeance? Surely the sitename can't be referring to the amount of content because it's more like a ton's worth!

Unfortunately, 1Pondo doesn't refer to the amount of money you'll be spending to join the site, either. While it often irks me when currencies aren't in American dollars, I'd much rather be charged a single pound than more than double what most sites charge for a month! Still, there are some good things about the site.

For starters, tons of movies are in HD. There are also lower-quality download options, but note that whenever you veer away from the AVI files, you're dealing with below average quality at best. Streams are sometimes listed as well, but they just open up your own video player.

It's unclear how often updates occur since nothing is dated, but there are currently 1,983 movies to keep you busy and that is 180 more than there were eight months ago. You can browse in the "all movies search" section or check out the content divided into three categories: hivision movies, original movies and original drama.

The "hivision" section appears to filter the entire collection, so that only the vids with the largest bit rates show up. I haven't the slightest idea as to how the other two sections divvy up the material. It's not a matter of exclusivity, as all the content is exclusive.

You can also search by collection, which includes the model collection, gravure idol collection and princess collection. There's no real difference between the three, as each has a mix of babes who pose in softcore and hardcore situations. Most of the porn offers the latter type of content and none of the material is censored. That's saying a lot for porn coming from Japan, where the trend is to usually blur all the naughty bits.

You can filter the porn by model type (pornstar, amateur , mature , etc) and costume (from lingerie to kimono). There are chicks who sometimes get tied up, some who get fucked by vibrators and others who tease you with their feet, but most of the scenes are good ol' fashioned twosomes, MMF threesomes and gangbangs.

The fonts are reminiscent of old-school computer manuals and the navigation is pretty much what I already described in that the it's easy enought to get around, but it's unclear as to why they organize the content the way they do. Most movies come with vid caps and a bunch list photos, too, but these are just higher-quality screen captures.

There aren't any extras, so the appeal here is definitely the high-quality uncensored and very hot main content and nothing else. However, 1 Pondo costs a pound of bills more than you'd probably be comfortable spending on almost any site.
