Retro Queens Review

As attractive as it is to get all nostalgic for the good ol' days, I have to say that I appreciate modern medical care and air-conditioning. However, that stuff is boring. I'm here to talk about more exciting things like silky stockings, garter belts and girdles, whose looks haven't been topped since their heyday in the '40s and '50s. If you like that vintage lingerie look, it's time to check out Retro Queens.

Actually, RetroQueens isn't the most accurate name choice since there's really just one queen here. Her name is Eve, she's Italian by birth, but lives in Germany and she appears in pretty much every one of the 46 movies and 246 photo sets. Sure, from time to time she'll invite her pretty friends to put on their best petticoats and nylons to pose with her, but compared to her raven-haired loveliness, they're mere princesses.

All of the films come as Windows Media downloads and the quality is mostly good. They show Eve and her pals striking a variety of pin-up poses, with the camera lingering on their stockings, garters and the like. If you've ever found a vintage cheesecake calendar at a garage sale, the action will look familiar to you. There's the naughty secretary who's bending too far over the filing cabinet, the society belle in silken unmentionables and the horny housewife in the kitchen.

The pictures feel even more like the work of a latter-day Alberto Vargas (one of the biggest pin-up painters ever). They're high-res and absolutely glorious. Each set can be saved as a Zip file and typically includes several shots of the upper thighs, where the straps meet the stocking and where the name of the manufacturer and the size is usually printed. You'll notice that many of these brands haven't been manufactured for decades, so the look here is truly authentic.

Updating is a little tough to discern since Eve hasn't put any dates on her content. (I guess she wanted to keep the illusion going that this was really back in the day). Having said that, I don't think she's updating anymore as the amounts haven't increased all that much since our last visit. If she is still adding new material, she is doing it at a snail's pace.

There are no bonus sites and the only extras appear to be a collection of erotic diary entries from Eve and a link to her store, where you can buy your own nylons. The lack of updates and a streaming format really drag the score down and the usability of the site could be enhanced with a few more navigational features. That said, Eve is a gorgeous model and Retro Queens has a fair amount of content for those who appreciate the vintage vixen look.
