Hidden cameras. Security cams. Spy cams. We are a society obsessed with catching people doing things when they don't know anybody is watching. Caught On Spy Cams is a site that attempts to play into that desire with content that they claim is 100% real, no scripts and no actors. I can tell you, however, that the only one of those I might believe is the 'no scripts' part. I hope it was all improvized because I don't want to think that someone actually wrote this stuff and expected us to buy it as reality.
The first issue with the 'spy cam' action is that it isn't exclusive. Therefore, if they aren't even producing their own original material I guess they have to take what they can get. In the case of CaughtOnSpyCams, the content is 'voyeur' action taken from various DVD titles.
There are 80 scenes available so far and each one is downloadable in superior Windows Media format or a few lesser quality options. In the case of these 'spy cam' movies, quality is relative to the type of videos they are. Sure, they are obviously-staged scenes. However, they do try to make it look like the footage is taken from a spy/security/hidden cam. This means that many of the episodes are black & white, some are grainy and there are, obviously, no close-ups or multiple angles and such.
I mentioned that all the content was taken from various DVD titles, well all those titles and more are part of the large network that comes included with your membership. Before you even get to the home page, you will have to click through two other pages of content. On the second of those pages is a list of all of the 47 other sites included in the network. In addition, there is a list of all the available DVD categories from which those sites take their content.
There are 29 categories within the DVD archive. In total, you are looking at over 650 full movies. There is no 'spy cam' niche here, so I couldn't tell you how many more scenes they have to add or how often they will be adding them. What I can tell you is that the available 'spy cam' content looks good and is obviously staged. If you like real hidden camera content then go elsewhere. If you want nonexclusive staged stuff made to look like hidden cam action as well as a huge network of DVD movies, then Caught On Spy Cams is worth a look.
