Pros and Cons
- great-quality videos
- large collection
- frequent updates
- only vid caps
- no advanced search
- nonexclusive content
This porn site is called 201 Century and let me say that it isn't because you'll see hardcore from the far distant future. In fact, you'll be seeing the opposite, because apparently if you read 201 in Japanese then it sounds like "old," so this collection is dedicated to porn mostly from the 20th century from the beginning to probably the early '80s.
Actually, I would say that there might even be some black and white vintage porn from the end of the 1800s, but it's difficult to be sure, because nothing tells you the original date of production for any of the scenes. You can only see when they were added to the collection and it appears that seven DVDs were added in the last 30 days, although nothing specifically in the last few weeks.
There are 111 DVD titles and that translates into about 550 videos given that each one has multiple scenes. At first I made the mistake of thinking that they could only be streamed in an embedded player, but with just a bit of scrolling I found multiple downloadable options in MP4 and Windows Media formats.
You can expect great-quality playback, but some look better than others, because that's the nature of the beast when you have flicks that have been digitized from films that are decades old. I should mention that there are some Japanese flicks that are much more recent than the others, so they tend to look quite good (some are from the early 2000s). You will also find vid caps that you can download in Zip files.
The thing with vintage content is that while many folks probably imagine it to be tame, like the Cole Porter tune that "a glimpse of stocking was looked at as rather shocking," even back in the B&W days they had an "anything goes" approach. So overall, you're getting a healthy mix of masturbation, lesbian encounters and hardcore sex, including lots of group action. Condoms are rare, hairy pussies are not.
You can leave comments and rate scenes, although you can't sort all of the content by the ratings people have given. There are some categories to browse and you can use a basic keyword search or you browse the model index. You can't save favorites though, so that's a tad disappointing.
My biggest issue with the site is the price, because it's definitely higher than average and you're only getting nonexclusive content. I enjoy the variety in the material, although I'd love to see it divided up by year. 201 Century would be more appealing if it cost less.
