If you've got a thing for Red Sonja, but haven't yet managed to convince a girl to wear a chainmail bikini for you, Mythic Women might just be the website you've been waiting for. The man behind it is a fellow by the name of Gerald Laidmore. He's a photographer and an artisan who does his best to bring you beautiful women, handcrafted outfits and exotic scenes.
MythicWomen doesn't have the snazziest design, but there's nothing to complain about when it comes to navigation. I had no trouble making my way through the website and I actually appreciated some of its features. The videos have their own section and can be sorted by date, duration and title. As for the pictures, they have their own section as well, but you can also access them by going through the model index.
The women are all stunning. Some are professionals, while others are amateurs. Regardless of their experience in front of the camera, these girls look great dressed as heroines, damsels and warriors. Actually, "dressed" might be a bad choice of words, because they really don't wear much. The most they ever have on are skimpy bikinis made of material like chainmail and those outfits don't stay on for long.
There are only 10 videos to enjoy at this point and seeing as how they mostly provide you with a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoots, they aren't really the main attraction. You wouldn't guess that at first glance, though, because you're given as many as nine different formats to download and stream them in. Your best bets are the usually HD Flash, MP4 and Windows Media files.
There are also 72 sets of pictures that bring you sexy shots of women posing in very little or nothing at all. All the outfits were crafted by Gerald himself and I've got to say that the man's got quite the gift, because his costumes look great. He could seriously make a lot of cash selling them to cosplay enthusiasts.
I've got to commend Laidmore and his set design as well. A lot of the models have been photographed in front of backdrops that make it appear as though they are posing in some ancient dungeon. The sets aren't all that extravagant, but they definitely serve their purpose and help to sell the fantasy. A lesser site would have just taken pictures of these girls in places like living rooms and backyards.
The high-res photos are quite often gorgeous and most are downloadable in Zip files. There are actually five image sizes to choose from when you go with the Zip files. Some of the galleries are a little on the small side, but rest assured that most of them are of a respectable size.
The website only seems to add a new video once every several months. However, it adds a new photo set to its collection once every 6-12 days. You can use the time between updates to check out some behind-the-scenes pics and a forum.
I am going to be honest and say that when it comes to sites focused on photos I kind of expect a lot of them and although this collection has grown, it's far from huge. However, when a site is someone's personal labor of love, if the content isn't being churned out en masse it isn't a big deal. In the end, Mythic Women is a unique site and comes a great low price.
