We briefly spoke with the sensational Sunny Leone back in 2005 and a lot has happened to her since then. In addition to becoming one of the biggest stars in the industry, the Toronto-born, Indo-Canadian starlet has expanded her empire to include a production company and various other business ventures.

She recently made headlines all across India when she appeared on Bigg Boss, their version of Big Brother. For many people in India, a country with strict laws on pornography, this was their first look at an honest-to-goodness pornstar. This attention has led her to being one of the most searched-for women online in that country and receiving a flood of TV and movie offers. We spoke with her about her recent success, her plans for the future and what she's willing to do to get some lovin'.

You are one of the most popular pornstars around and have been performing for over seven years, yet you have so few appearances relative to other performers of your status. What do you credit your popularity to?

I credit my popularity to just working really hard and using simple business basics such as supply and demand. You can only find content on me in a few places: my website, my movies with Vivid and the movies I release with my company Sun Lust Pictures. My web and PR teams work all the time in getting my name out there. Bigg Boss has helped out my popularity a lot. I think when you treat anything like a business you can sell anything you want, including myself and my brand.

You have almost as many director credits as performance credits. Which do you prefer to do?

I love being in front of the camera and I believe I always will, but there is something different and very exciting about being behind the camera and being a part of the process of making a great product. It's something that I never thought I would do, but am enjoying every minute of it.

What are some of the more interesting gifts you have received from fans? What would you say is the best?

indian nudeI receive all sorts of presents from clothes, shoes, cash in the mail, cards, flowers and jewelry. But one of the best presents I just received was a fan had my face tattooed on his arm and it was a pretty good one as well. It was so flattering.

Did you find it exhausting running the Rock N Roll LA Half-Marathon? And what was the most physically taxing experience in your life?

I was running the half-marathon not for myself, but for everyone who is a victim of Cancer; families, friends and the people who are suffering. So I just keep telling myself while I run that there are people that struggle just to breathe and live and all I have to do is run. It then becomes easy. I was told during my first half marathon that its 80% mental and 20% physical.

The most physically taxing experience of my life was driving back and forth every single day for three months to the hospital watching my Dad suffer and die from cancer. It wasn't just physical, it was mental as well. I would spend six hours every day driving back and forth, running errands for him, setting up Medicare and social security, taking care of all the bills, expenses and figuring out where to go next to take care of all these things. It required me to physically go everywhere and mentally take care of it. I would never want anyone out there to go through this process and that is the reason why I ran the half marathon for the American Cancer Society, so with the money raised we could help people and families. Make it a little easier on them.

Can you briefly explain Desi? There are references to it in many recent articles about you, but I think most reading this are unfamiliar.

Desi means Indian culture. Both my parents were born and raised in India. I grew up in an Indian home speaking Punjabi or Hindi and learning everything about our culture. I was just recently on an Indian reality show and it was the first time in television history that an Indian girl that works in adult entertainment is on national television. Let's just say it was big news for the country of India.

Knowing the legality of porn in India (legal to posses, but illegal to produce or sell) and your outspoken support of pornography in light of the news you've been making, has your opinions on the industry changed at all? Or have they merely been strengthened?

Adult material is not legal in India and I don't think that is going to change for a really long time. The Indian press is always asking about what I am going to do and my answer is always the same "I don't know". I would never want to say that I am retiring from adult because this is who I am but if I end up staying so busy in India it would be physically impossible to shoot. So I guess we are going to have to see. I might just have to shoot three to five years worth of content in advance, ha ha.

I read that your appearance on Bigg Boss led to thousands of complaints. What kind of feedback have you been receiving from India's media? I imagine there are those who see you as a symbol of the westernization of their culture.

indian boobsThe press and the fans have been very supportive. Naturally there were people, political groups, television broadcast companies and actors unions that were not happy, but I believe if you win the hearts of the people and the press then all the other people will get sorted out with time. I am not going anywhere and want to work in that country. I am also not breaking any of India's rules, regulations and laws while staying in that country. I believe that India would like to move forward in many ways and bringing me in the fore front to bare it all was a great idea. I can definitely handle what people say about me and know how to answer in a way that they will understand.

In previous interviews, you mentioned you would like to be retired by the time you were 30 years old. You are 30 years old now and your career is busier than ever. Where do you see yourself in five or 10 years?

Since I made this comment a lot of things have changed. When you are young, you don't think about what you're saying because you don't have the life experience. I have learned never to say you are retiring or never to say life plans to the press because it never works out that way. I don't have a five or 10-year plan at the moment. Being on the reality show in India has opened up a new door that I believe will keep me busy for a long time. I am about to shoot my first Bollywood movie called Jism 2 shot by one of the most well known people in Bollywood. It's a launch pad for hopefully amazing things.

You're on a desert island. What book, movie and CD do you have with you?

Any Hunter S. Thompson book, The Goonies, Joan Jett

I understand you are a gamer, or were at one point. What have you been playing lately and what's your favorite video game of all time?

I actually have no time for it at the moment. To be honest with you, I only played to get sex. It didn't work. That guy liked gaming more than sex. Hint for all the guys reading out there, if your girlfriend, wife or partner wants to have sex with you and you're playing video games, PRESS PAUSE and have sex.
