I have no idea who Bob Garon is or what his credentials are, but I happened upon an opinion article he wrote called "Men can separate love and sex; most women can't." I thought it might be an interesting read and apparently it was because I soon found myself in a daze of bewilderment and questioning what backwards era I just landed in.

In this article he suggests that only men have sex without love and that the reason most women have sex, though not the loose ones he quickly points out, is for commitment or love. It would all be rather funny if he weren't so serious, but he's damn serious! In fact, he portrays females as little more than naive and unworldly creatures who just wanna be loved. Well, have I got news for him - most women are not his wife. Oh, did I forget to mention he uses his wife as an example?

"My wife could never sleep with a man she does not love. Never! I don't care how handsome, how macho is the guy," he writes. Well, perhaps he doesn't care, but I sure as hell bet his wife does. Of course, with that attitude, Mr. Garon may never find out the truth since his wife is unlikely to ever tell him.

The fact is that this is the year 2006 and I do not know any woman who has not slept with at least one guy for the sheer pleasure of her own passionate wants or desires. I also can't think of any girl who ever fell for the 1950's line, "if you love me you will sleep with me." In fact, had anyone in my own sexual experience ever used that line on me I'd have laughed them right out of my life.

So-called loose women sleep with men for all kinds of reasons including "because I'm fucking horny and he (or she) was there." Similarly, while the hope of love and commitment may be in the plethora of some female motives, I'd suggest that they're in the vocabulary of some men who are similarly not, what was that word again? Oh yes, LOOSE!
