Bikini Beach Sex
Nothing is hotter than a babe in a bikini. Obviously, as she steams up the beach, she might cast her eye on some of the staff meant to serve and protect the safety of swimmers caught up in the surf... That's what happened to formerly reserved Miss Ross!

Not every guy can carry his hard-on through hours of fucking and in fact, while most men would love to be able to go on for ever like a porn star, the body responds much quicker than the mind. Smell the 21st century, Mr. Garon

I have no idea who Bob Garon is or what his credentials are, but I happened upon an opinion article he wrote called "Men can separate love and sex; most women can't." I thought it might be an interesting read and apparently it was because I soon found myself in a daze of bewilderment and questioning what backwards era I just landed in.

Sloth's Believe it or not
Virgins still exist and not just in folklore.
My brother got married recently and considering the fact that his bride has two young kids, it's pretty obvious that my bros didn't marry a virgin. However, he was the first person to snatch her cherry as her high school sweetheart. It seems a twist of fate that two virgins should end up getting married after dozens of other lovers and a lot of time in between their high school tryst. I wanted to get up and make a speech about this very thing at the reception, and about how my mother actually caught them in the midst of their de-virginizing experience (the stupid guy actually brought the little slut home to his bedroom instead of doing it in a car like the rest of us), but out of respect for the elderly at the wedding, I didn't.

Human rights is a dirty little phrase
When will the Bush Administration give it up?
I've never been outspoken about republican conservatism, but this George Bush Jr character to the south of my border is just a complete dufus that belongs more to the Victorian era than the 21st century. I think even Queen Victoria was probably more open-minded than this idiot, after all she didn't outlaw lesbians and thankfully, I'm sure, to the benefit of most of us.

The Larger They Are
Is size everything?
It has long been a myth that size is everything. We are lead to believe that the well-hung man is the envy of all other men, but when it comes to size does it really matter to chicks as much as it seems to matter to guys?

Food and sex
I am addicted to food. Well, okay, I'm not, but I am addicted to writing about food in erotic short stories and I think that has to do with growing up, quite literally, in a restaurant. My parents were in the fine dining business and we lived in an apartment above our establishment. We had a fridge, but quite frankly it was always empty since we ate in the restaurant and besides, better to cook in a large pro kitchen than a household one! I started out as a dishwasher, worked my way up and even created my own dishes and desserts and have always had a love of food and creative cooking, which is why I often refer to food in my erotic fiction writing. For example, I might, and have described the tastes and sensations of eating a pussy like eating truffles.

Pussy Dressing
How far will we go?
Okay, I can understand bigger breasts or smaller breasts, liposuction and face lifts, but pussy reconstruction? Seriously, are women out of their bleeding minds! (Jill Kelly not included, I just love this pussy revealing pic :D). Apparently, the new trend is not only labia reconstruction, but also clitoral hood and hymen reconstruction.

Memoirs of a whore
The pseudo-history of the prostitute
With all the hype surrounding the film Memoirs of a Geisha (Rob Marshall, 2005) over the past few months, I began to wonder about the history of prostitution. Now, it's not that a geisha was originally considered a prostitute, but it appears that the American occupation of Japan after WWII led to the common concept that they were prostitutes and indeed some sold themselves to soldiers as such. With this in mind, I wonder whether or not it was and always has been war that have caused the innocent and often times elite women of different and obviously losing cultures into objectified cum vessels. In one way it makes sense since the life of a soldier prior to the 20th Century would have been one where they were away from their wives for exceedingly long lengths of time. In which case, and more interesting would be the history of gigolos. ;)

Rant
Chix need to pack away the fairy tale and get real.
What do you like most about sex? That was a question put to people in Toronto, Canada recently and in regards to their weekly city magazine's 'Sex and Love' issue. When the first answer was "the ability to be myself," I was curious, but when the fourth answer was "being beautiful and sexy and getting attention lavished on me" I thought romance novel. Seriously, surveys like this just blow my mind.

The Male G-spot
A slightly taboo pleasure, but an acceptable term.
As a person fascinated with words and phrases, I always find the reference to the male g-spot a little bit humorous. After all, the g-spot literally means Gräfenberg spot and refers specifically to a gynaecologist's discovery within female, not male genitalia. I'm not certain when the male g-spot became a term used to describe stimulation of the prostate, but I'm running across it more and more frequently on sexuality sites. One part of me immediately thinks, jeez, can't guys find their own term, or, like early Christians taking over and replacing pagan rituals and festivities with their own celebrations, must dominant cultures constantly turn things into their own personal and empowering definitions? From a feminist point of view, there is a sense of male ownership over female sexuality in their use of the term to describe a man's pleasure point.

Is that a rubber in your pocket?
I've heard a lot of freaky news in my time, and even a lot of really weird laws, but in a predominantly Catholic country like Columbia with a Tulua city councilman trying to pass a law where everyone of fucking age needs to carry a condom? Wow, talk about wicked. Certainly, you can see how the local priests have their tighty whities in a bunch, after all this proposal does, to them, promote sex over abstinence.

Sex and your IQ
Increased sexual activity could make you a braniac
I often keep apprised of science and medical news, well, I don't go out searching for it, but when it's in the newspaper or on the Internet, I find that my attention is more often drawn to it because whenever I hear of studies I eventually hear of an opposite one, and I quite enjoy contradiction. For example, one moment the medical community is saying that so many ounces of wine per week actually helps a persons health, and the next thing I know someone is offering up evidence to the contrary, for example, the same number of glasses can make ones IQ or memory diminish. Don't quote me on this, it's just something I think I recall from a few years ago and perhaps I, myself, have had too much wine in my time? :-)

Desperate for tits
I have probably talked a lot about tits, after all they're one of the mainstays of porn and you're likely to find that many major porn stars have had an augmentation, but what about average babes?
Tits, while they are plentiful in the world, are not easy to come bye, at least in the United States where a boob job could cost you an average of $4,500 and that's just a median price since the cost does go up to $10,000 depending on various considerations. So how the hell do women pay for this? Most of us save, but there was one desperate chick from Florida in the news lately that decided that it was time to off her hubby and pay for the procedure through the insurance claim.

The art of it (Part 3)
Internet pornography can be art.
This is a pretty bold statement, but if artistic merit is what makes non-art into art, and consists of quality, insight and the manipulation of a media to affect a sense of beauty, then as surely as Michael Jackson exists, Internet porn can be art.
First of all porn has quality even in it's rawest form. I'm not talking about bit rates, although this certainly does affect the beauty of an image, but rather style. Just like any art, there is a multiplicity of porn styles. Gonzo, as it is widely perceived, offers a subjective camera style taken from the vantage point of the main character to show what he sees and elicit greater identification with the events. Reality porn uses a direct cinema approach so as not to interfere with the sex events that happen as they unfold in reality. Other sites are more formalistic and employ greater stylistic techniques including more elaborate locations, costumes, narrative, music and even mise-en-scene.

The art of it (Part 2)
Erotic versus porn
There have long been many arguments between what constitutes the erotic versus porn, and it's not difficult to see that each era throughout history has their own standards, but I would go further in suggesting that it's not simply the moral tone of a society, but also individual tastes, preferences and boundaries that constitute much of the difference or lack of difference between these two words.
Erotica is said to constitute works of art, some of which I mentioned in my previous blog, that offer sensuality and depict sexuality. Pornography is defined as distinct from the erotic and certainly nowhere do I find anyone defining Internet porn as works of art.

The art of it (Part 1)
My personal interests in the erotic

I have always had a love of film, art, history and literature, but when I first began university I had no idea of what I would take as my major. I doubt that this is uncommon, since determining what you are going to study for the next four years and then live for a greater portion of your life (certainly for more time then you get for leisure) is not exactly a one-minute decision. I began with archaeology, which was probably more due to my romantic notions regarding anthropology then anything else, but this quickly changed to Fine Art in my second term after a friend had returned from a dig in Israel with stories of the profession's horrifying tediousness. I eventually settled on the more practical film major, but of course took up communications just in case my visions of being the female version of Fellini didn’t pan out.

Porn Drama
Could it, should it and will it make a cum back?
I have heard complaints from my gay guy friends for years that they want porn with love or at least some kind of storyline other than lets fuck. One could say that there are women who would feel the same, not all, but some. I wonder what straight guys think about this?
I have been into gay bar after gay bar, so I understand that when you look up at a TV monitor, all you see is fucking. LOL - can you imagine if this happened in straight clubs? Anyhow, I can see that when overexposed, you might want something a little different. Girls, of course, are not exposed to porn on such a regular basis, let alone over-exposed, but chicks like stories and substance with their sex, even if substance is only in the form of a good-sized cock with a buff guy behind it.

Chocolate
It's always been a sweet favourite
There's just something about ebony babes that has always turned me on. I think of Vanessa Williams and her gorgeously green eyes, or Hailey Barry and her stunning body. Strip away the good looks of these babes and you still have an overwhelmingly strong attitude and this is what attracts me most to dark chocolate and caramel babes.

Erotic Magazines
A brief opinion
I have always been fascinated by erotic photography. I suppose there is a major difference between the erotic and porn, although some people would disagree, saying the line between the two is often much too blurry. However, it safe to say that, at least it's my definition, that porn is more conventional, raw and base, while the erotic leans toward art. In fact, I would be willing to argue that the difference between porn and erotica is somewhat similar to the gap between high and low art. To me, both are in the realm of art, but stand in different places.
The reason that I'm so drawn to erotica is because of the fluid sensuality that seems to permeate it and how it is imbued with a much more intensely passionate creativity than porn. In this respect, my favourite kind of porn is anything that leans toward the erotic and to me it's even more arousing if I can find a blend of both photography and literature. In this case, a magazine format like New Nude Mag is totally up my alley.

Dating a porn star
Just fantasizing for a moment
Yesterday, a pinch of jealousy crossed my mind. It was only in hearing about the sexual adventures of one of my lovers and I'm trying to figure out why I would bother being jealous over something that happened at least three years ago, and before we even met. Laughingly, I came to the conclusion that it's ok for me to have had an adventurous sex life, but apparently not ok for my lovers. I'm joking of course, but I think part of that jealous blink was simply because I wasn't there.

Sex and Rock'n Roll
Does music have a place in Internet porn?
When I watch a movie, whether it is a Hollywood narrative or a Sunset Strip porn production, I expect music. Music, in these instances, always serves the production and enhances the dramatic action by acting as an accompaniment to the image. It rarely dominates the film or the action like it does on Internet porn sites like Silverstone Videos.

Sex and online fiction
The persona and the real who?
Since the advent of the Internet, more and more people have met online. In fact, websites like LavaLife and Match.com have popped up all over the place. It's not just on dating sites though. I have noticed that on certain swingers and BDSM porn sites there are forums, not just where you can post about the content of the site, but also where you can meet others with similar sexual interests. Similarly, there are online free forums where you can meet others with similar hobbies or pursuits. The Internet has opened up a whole new sex scene, one based more on ones ability to communicate through posting and IM than on looks. After all, anyone can post a photo.

The a, b, c, d's and double d's
Who doesn't love tits?
I've got a C-cup chest. I used to have B-sized breasts, but I'm one of those girls that most others envy. When I gain weight it goes straight to my tits and disseminates rather evenly everywhere else. I'd always been one of those skinny little bitches, but noticed over the past year of working from a sofa, that I'm a little heavier than I used to be. It's not a bad thing, I'm actually at my ideal weight now, but having a larger chest size has done something for my public persona. I suddenly notice how guys gawk when they walk past me if I'm wearing a tight fitting sweater. Just recently, I had some dude walk bye me, his eyes affixed to my tits and all he could get out was, "yum."

It's not just a miracle, I hope
Scottish man's supposed winning battle against Aids
More than any other transmittable disease, AIDS has had a devastating effect on the porn industry and the world, particularly in the early 1980's when there was relatively little known about the virus (although even now). While porn actors have always been more vulnerable to diseases due to the nature of their employment, it was in fact the consequences of HIV and AIDS that lead to both widespread testing and the use of condoms. Of course, those working in adult entertainment are probably a lot more diligent about being tested than the rest of us.

Sprinkling the message
You know, I really don't know what I was doing, but I happened upon the name Annie Sprinkle and the moment I did I couldn't help but smile. What an absolute character this chick is! Okay, so I'm sure she's much more in the category of woman than chick, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind, as it appears she's got an incredibly laid back (in more ways than one) attitude, a great sense of humour and probably more experience in porn than most.

In the court of law...
Apparently no excuse is too big
I have heard some very interesting and sometimes disturbing verdicts handed out by judges over the years and I think that we can all agree that there are some pretty damn fascinating defence arguments floating around in history. However, I think I may have just come across the most bizarre defence excuse yet. Of course, this is not to make fun of the very serious crime that the accused has been charged with, which is sexual assault.

Locker Room Stories
Slipping into the dirty female mind
My friends and I were pretty open with each other about our sexual adventures back in University. In fact, the stereotype that guys do more bragging and talking about sex than girls seems almost funny.
In my crowd, most guys talk about having sex, but they really aren't all that descriptive when they do. Chicks on the other hand are exceptionally dirty and extremely vivid when they talk about fucking. If a girlfriend is in any way shy then the other babes in the room haggle and coerce her for much, much greater detail!

Porn Movies
They aren't as ancient as I thought.

It appears that the first real pornographic movie wasn't made until the seventies. I was actually kind of shocked to read that. I recall in a film class that many early silent movies were geared toward erotic shots of women in stockings lifting their skirts and showing their nickers, and I could have sworn that eventually these types of films made their way into the burlesque theatre. I had no idea that the first porn film with a plot didn't receive a general theatrical release until 1970. That movie was called Mona: the virgin nymph, from Bill Osco, who I assume is more famous for his association with Flesh Gordon (1974), which has got to be one of the most hilarious porn movies in my recollection.

The News
Real life news tidbits. Really.
I come across the oddest tidbits of information when searching the Internet to read about what's up in the world or listening to the television. For example, yesterday I read a bit of fluff that Katie Holmes strict Catholic dad is extremely upset about the "possible evidence" of premarital sex with Tom Cruise. Hm, now there is an understatement if I ever heard one. Perhaps her being pregnant didn't quite make his list for "solid" evidence?

Two Lovers, No Sex: What's A Girl To Do?
What an exhausting night! I'd love to be able to tell you that it's because I'm completely spent from too much sex, but quite the opposite. I'm exasperated from no sex, but plenty of fighting. I didn't even get any angry sex! Seriously, if there is fighting to be had, then there should be a serving of good, old-fashioned raw fucking to go along with it. After all, a person can't subsist on 'I love you' sex day in and day out. A relationship needs variety! Well, at least I think so.

Nothing About Porn Today
Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends
Well, today is Thanksgiving in Canada, and since the great white north provides plenty of beautiful young girls for us to feast our eyes upon, I thought I'd send out a happy day in their honour. Of course, I also happen to be Canadian, and my weekend has basically consisted of family get together's and elbowing my way through supermarkets to find a beast to roast later today. I had hoped to do something a bit different this year, like King Crab or Prime Rib roast, but it appears everyone had that same idea. After supermarket number three, and unable to find what I wanted, I caved in and bought turkey and all the fixings.

The Man Sitting in the Corridor
I was thinking about sex. Of course, this is not unusual, since it's a hard thing not to think about when you write porn reviews every day (lol). As I've mentioned I also write erotic stories and when time allows, I usually lend my critical eye to other author's fiction.
A story that I recently looked over had a major problem. The sex was dull. It's not so much that the words used to describe the erotic action were uninteresting, but rather it was that the circumstances surrounding the sex. Basically, it was about a married couple with an uninteresting vanilla sex life, and the author meant the sex scene to be, well, erotic.

Certainly, every girl has had an orgasm?
I've been writing a novel in my spare time, and finally arrived at Chapter four. My character, a dominatrix, has finally set off to where she needs to be to really get the story rolling, and as she is driving, she ends up having a thought.
"I think in the sixties, people went searching for themselves as they related to the world and other people. In the nineties, it seemed sexual identity and finding pleasure was more selfish, at least to women."

Where the truth lies, indeed
I was watching the news last night, and I pay particular attention to film news. What can I say, I'm a film festival whore. I follow as much as possible from Cannes and Fantasporto in Europe to Sundance and tiny independent festivals. Right now, it's the season for the Toronto International Film Festival, and the news last night was about a film by Canadian director, Atom Egoyan called "Where the Truth Lies."
If you think about it, the title of the film seems a little too ironic. The movie stars Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth, and is loosely based around Hollywood icons Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. What's controversial is that the film was smacked with an NC-17 rating in the United States. For those that are not aware, the NC-17 rating in the U.S. is considered the kiss of death for a movie. The film was slapped with it by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) supposedly for explicit sexuality in a ménage à trois. The problem with an MC-17 label for a film in the States is that many cinemas end up refusing to show it.

Porn and History
I picked up a book at the library to do a bit of research, and came across an essay about porn in the 1980's. Basically, it was all about how the industry flourished in that decade, and it was more economic and historical in nature, so I won't bother you with that. However, what caught my eye was a dildo manufacturer who had made dildos in his basement, and ultimately created a million dollar empire. Just seeing this little blurb reminded me of a woman I had met a few years ago. She worked in a medical museum, and at a very posh and conservative conference during dinner, she began to tell everyone at the table about the history of medical dildos, and the contraptions she had seen. All of us were howling with laughter, much to the chagrin of our employers. I no longer remember what was so hilarious, but it's completely fascinating how far dildos have come since their early beginnings.Continue reading Porn and History
