Virgins still exist and not just in folklore.

My brother got married recently and considering the fact that his bride has two sons, it's pretty obvious that my bro didn't marry a virgin. However, he was the first person to snatch her cherry as her high school sweetheart. It seems a twist of fate that two virgins should end up getting married after dozens of other lovers and a lot of time in between their high school tryst. I wanted to get up and make a speech about this very thing at the reception, and about how my mother actually caught them in the midst of their de-virginizing experience (the stupid guy actually brought the little slut home to his bedroom instead of doing it in a car like the rest of us), but out of respect for the elderly at the wedding, I didn't.

Anyhow, the wedding, with my obviously not-a-virgin sister-in-law wearing white, got me thinking about how many people are actually virgins when they get married. I think at one time in history it would have been criminal to have lost your virginity prior to your wedding night, but these days I think it would be criminally embarrassing for many of us, male or female to be that inexperienced on the wedding night. Albeit, I also believe that at least half of us probably wish we were virgins on the wedding night, or at least got to fuck one.

The statistics about virgin brides and grooms is not readily available, but I did come across one figure suggesting 62 percent of males and 65 percent of females engaged in sexual intercourse before marriage. Interpreting these stats it would seem that at least 40 per cent of us will get a virgin on our wedding night, and a lot more chicks than guys will have themselves a real live virgin, which is hopeful. Wow, how the tables have turned. We've come a long way baby!

I know, so true! Same with my parents and people are always like "they probably lied to you" when I know it is true. People's cynycism these days.. we might just go back to believing everything because denying everything is just as stupid!
