New Superman Has More Than Bulging Muscles
According to the website Ananova.com, Hollywood executives working on the new movie Superman Returns have one super-sized problem. Apparently, the film's star, Brandon Routh fills out the front of his skintight costume a little too well, especially on profile shots.
Despite the wardrobe department's attempts to lessen the blow of this XXX-ray vision in blue tights by constructing a special codpiece for the super-endowed superhero, the executives are worried that the bulge will be too distracting for the film's viewers all the same.
A source is quoted as saying, "We may be forced to erase his package with digital effects."
The young, 26-year-old star, is resuming the role previous played by the late Christopher Reeves. Kate Bosworth plays Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey plays Lex Luther just to name a few of the more famous celebrities involved in the production to be released next year in 2006.
We'll wait to see if newcomer Routh eclipses the better-known actors. I suppose it will depend on how successful the film's special effects team is at reducing his scene-stealing "role" - no word on whether he needed an extra large phone booth for changing in or if he had any gravitational drag while leaping tall buildings in a single bound.
They could have avoided this whole problem by casting Jude Law in the title role.

LOL - funny, albeit not to Jude Law. :D I heard they had to do something similar with Robin's (Burt Ward's) package in the original Batman and Robin TV series.
