Naked Rambler.jpg

It seems a few tried and trusted sayings have not proved true. March was unseasonably warm at the beginning and slightly cool in the end. There was no 'in like a lion, out like a lamb.' Then, April showers were supposed to bring May flowers but alas, April was relatively dry while it has rained non-stop in May.

I, therefore, decided to briefly leave my groundhog hole and venture somewhere sunny where I can always see my shadow. I have wondered, however, what should I wear on the plane? It's hardly shorts and T-shirts weather in my neck of the woods yet but I don't want to be sweltering when I have arrived seaside. Don't be annoyed--I have a point soon...!

Fox News, (05/18/06) although seldom prone to sensationalist reporting, uncovered the latest news on Britain's celebrated "naked rambler." It seems Stephen Gough is a 47-year-old ex-marine was on his way to a hearing in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he was set to challenge four contempt of court citations for nudity in that land of mountains, moors where he previously exposed his own version of the Loch Ness Monster.

However, our bad lad can't keep his clothes on the flight to Edinburgh so he was arrested at Edinburgh Airport for flying without pants or a parachute.

Gough has previously completed naked walks across Britain with interruptions for arrests and court appearances starting in 2004. His latest airborne antics caused the Appeal Court to decide his case merited a full hearing while the presiding judge, Lord Johnston, encouraged Gough's lawyers to compel their client to understand that he was "doing himself no good" by continuing to insist on his clothing optional forays across the UK.

Back in 2004, Gough was quoted as saying, "There is no law saying 'Thou shalt not go naked. All I am doing is dressing how I want to dress and believing what I want to believe."

Needless to say, God's law or man's, I won't be planning on stripping down mid-flight since the whiteness of my current untanned underbelly might cause so much glare that the pilot won't be bale to see out the cockpit window.
