One normally assumes those candid up skirt sites are often times staged. However, it's not so difficult to suspend one's disbelief to enjoy some voyeuristic soft-core, besides pursuing the real thing might get you the reputation of pervert or even arrested. However, if one was one of the people normally doing the arresting, one might expect to get away with it.

That's the case in a story by Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Jill Taylor. A Martin County deputy used his built-in, dashboard-mounted surveillance camera to record surreptitiously local female beachgoers.

The county's Sheriff Robert Crowder fired deputy, Jack Munsey, after Monday saw the release of an investigation concluding that he broke policy by using his video camera for unofficial purposes while working. Munsey, 36, wants to contest his firing, so nothing is final until a panel hears evidence to decide whether the dismissal is appropriate.

During 10 years of tenure with the department, he had two prior disciplinary reports. Two years ago, Munsey took a shortcut through an empty canal with his patrol car on his way to work and he looked at unauthorized websites on his department computer in 1997.

Munsey reviewed any interesting images he captured in his patrol car during "downtime" since otherwise the surveillance footage won't play on normal consumer devices.

He claims it was harmless fun intended for his personal amusement only. The Sheriff contends that it is neither in his job description nor what taxpayers expect of a public official. As he states, "We're not paying people to do this."

Personally, I think bosses should take note, maybe if they'd just let him watch his porn on the office computer, he wouldn't have resorted to making his own kind of fun outside the discreet confines of the department.
