A Burglar Calls the Cops on Himself and a Fake Shower App

So I was only going to talk about the Fake Shower app today, but just before I started writing I happened upon the story of a burglar who called the cops on himself and decided to make it a two-story day.

You see, what happened was that 31-year-old Mihaula Straub was in the process of robbing a house in Benesti, Romania, when he heard a noise. Well, he thought the noise was from another burglar inside the house and it freaked him out.

So what do you do when you hear a strange noise and are scared? You call the police, of course, which is exactly what Mihaula did - after hiding under the bed. The problem for Mr. Straub was that there was no one else in the house, so when the police showed up they arrested him for attempted burglary.

As a burglar one wants to be very quite. But where else do people prefer to make as little noise as possible? When they are taking a shit, of course!

For some of you out there, there is nothing more embarrassing than taking a dump for everyone to hear as you fart and force out multiple turds. And what if it isn't solid? That can get even noisier. So what do many people do? They turn on the shower to cover up the sounds emanating from their ass. This might work, but it does waste water. And that brings us to the Fake Shower app from Akatu.

With this app you can get the sounds of a shower without having to turn on the shower. And you are saving water in the process. In fact, the app will even tell you how much water you save by using the app.

This is great and all, but it got me to thinking. At home people are usually alone or with their significant other and if that's the case then your partner has hopefully seen you at your best and your worst and heard plenty of noises coming from your body already. If you are in a long-term relationship a little poop noise definitely shouldn't be of concern to either party.

With that being said, the majority of the time when people want to cover up their bathroom noises would be when they were not at home - say at another person's house or in a public restroom. And in those situations it seems weird to "turn on the shower." Imagine having a little dinner party and one of your friends gets up to go to the bathroom and then you hear the shower turn on. And what about public restrooms where there are no showers? (Actually, I think that sounds like it could be really funny.)

Speaking of showers (real ones), here is one of the many "Cold Shower Confessions" video that people have been doing over the last while.

And here is a hidden camera site called HiddenShowers that you can check out as well.
