Cold War Amateurs Review

You might know the name Alanna Thomas, because she's the star of one of the largest amateur /swinger networks on the Internet. Why do I mention her in a review about Cold War Amateurs? Well, because the site is her doing.

You see, as she tells it, she has been buying porn to use on the Internet for years, mostly the cheap stuff. When she finally got around to looking at it, she saw that it was filled with Eastern European porn from the '80s and '90s just after the end of the Cold War.

Well, she found the content pretty funny because of how dated it all was, but she also figured that other people would either find it funny or sexy or both and that either way she wanted to share it with everyone. Which is how we got to ColdWarAmateurs: "A celebration of all the 80s and 90s amateur smut!"

From the setup on the tour, I was looking forward to a really fun time watching old porn movies . But what the tour doesn't make clear is that this is much more of a photo site, with 54 sets of pictures (some have been split into parts) and only four videos. The pictures look good, but the videos look average (even though some have good-quality bit rates), which is kind of expected given how old they are and that they were probably first filmed on VHS.

When you first sign in you look to be on the network's homepage, but in the middle of the page is a quick link to the main collection. You also have easy access to all the extras. The collection is mostly solo-girl fun, but all the videos are hardcore and some photo sets show sex as well. Each scene has a little write-up and a thumbnail to give you a clue as to its content.

This is very helpful, but I will also mention that those thumbnails are constantly rotating through multiple images from the scene/set and for me this is really annoying. I appreciate the rotation when I hover my mouse over the image, but don't have it going all the time!

I think it is pretty obvious that Cold War Amateurs isn't really worth joining given its current size and the quality of its content.It also isn't updating, but there are bonus sites that might add enough value for some of you, including the likes of The Nympho, Cum On Carmen and Fuck Fest Parties.
